Indianola Municipal Utilities (IMU) required additional generation capacity to serve system growth. P & E Engineering assisted IMU in analyzing various generation and purchased power options, including the installation of diesel engine-generator sets and a combustion turbine. Specifications were prepared for a combustion turbine and proposals solicited from suppliers.

IMU selected a proposal from GE to furnish and install a refurbished Frame 5 turbine-generator set. P & E Engineering provided all detailed installation engineering services, including civil, mechanical, and electrical. The project included a 13-69 kV step-up transformer and the addition of a 69 kV circuit breaker.
